Set amidst the palm fringed jungle and tea plantations of southern Sri Lanka, Kahanda Kanda is a hidden gem where culture, wellness and luxury combine. Our boutique hotel in Sri Lanka offers 12 individually designed villas (5 with private pools) to relax and unwind, just a short tuk-tuk ride from the UNESCO world heritage site Galle Fort.

Our bespoke villas are inspired by local culture, featuring elegant art and antiques within each of the spacious rooms and gardens - a sanctuary where guests can indulge in serenity, privacy and personalised five-star service.

KK is fifteen minutes inland from the south coast of Sri Lanka, so ideal for exploring the nearby beaches or visiting Galle Fort or some of the many other activities available. Or you could just lie by the pool and read a book – the choice is yours!

Children under the age of 12 are not permitted at Kahanda Kanda. The reason for this is two-fold – firstly there are a number of steep drops from some of the terraces, and secondly, we pride ourselves in providing a haven of peace and tranquillity – a scene not best suited for young persons!This privacy policy explains how Kahanda Kanda may collect information from you via our website and how that information may be used subsequently. No data transmission over the internet can be entirely secure, and therefore we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information and/or use of our sites. However we use our reasonable endeavours to protect the security of your personal information from unauthorised access.

The information which we hold about you should be processed fairly and lawfully and should be accurate, relevant and not excessive. The information should, where necessary, be kept up to date and not retained for longer than is necessary. CHANGING OR ACCESSING YOUR INFORMATION

Booking Terms & Conditions

  • CONFIRMATION OF BOOKINGS
    To confirm your reservation a deposit must be made.
    • A 50% deposit is required to guarantee your reservation.
    • The balance of your room charges to be paid at check-in.
    CANCELLATION POLICY
    • All cancellations must be advised in writing and will take effect the day it is received by KK Collection.
    • Cancellations received 15 days or more prior to arrival date will not incur a charge.
    • Cancellations received between 1-14 days prior to arrival date will incur a charge of 50% of the total cost.
    • Festival season bookings (from 21st December to 07th January) will be deemed non-refundable.
    • No-shows and stays that are cut short will incur a 100% cancellation fee on the full room rate for the entire period booked.
    OTHER TERMS & CONDITIONS
    • 1. All rooms are non-smoking, air-conditioned.
    2. Price includes breakfast, Service Charge and all taxes. 
    3. An extra person supplement cost would be $60 per night. 
    4. No babies or children under 12 years of age. Should guests arrive at the hotel to check-in with a child under 12 years, the hotel reserves the right to refuse accommodation.
    5. Minimum 3 nights stay over Christmas and New Year period. (21 December 2018 to 06th January 2019)
    6. Check-out time 1200hrs midday, and check-in time is from 1400hrs. Late check out time can be arranged at the management's discretion.
    7. Guests can add half-board dining to their stay for an extra US$ 35 a person, each night; full-board for US$60. There is a compulsory gala dinner for guests staying on certain dates, at a cost of US $75 per person on 24th December, and US $100 per person on 31st December 2018.
    8. We accept VISA, MASTERCARD and AMERICAN EXPRESS.
    9. Our spa therapists are male. If you prefer a women’s touch, the hotel can arrange a female therapist with advance notice.
    10. The hotel arranges free Tuk Tuk shuttle, If you wish to go for lunch or dinner at our sister hotel.

Kahanda Kanda Cuisine

Indulge your taste buds with fine food that is fresh, delicious and healthy at Kahanda Kanda. We use only fruits, vegetables and herbs grown on the estate, supplemented with a selection of the freshest local produce to create simple, fusion dishes and classic Sri Lankan curries to pamper our guests' palates with good health. Two of the three resident chefs have trained in Thailand, and offer a mouth-watering range of Thai dishes.

As important as the food itself, mealtimes are entirely at your discretion. At breakfast we offer a selection of local specialities as well as Western dishes. Lunch can be three courses, or you can choose from our Snack Menu. Dinner is a gourmet affair and if you would like a romantic dinner, may I suggest we set up a table in the garden for supper under the stars?

For those who are hell-bent on losing weight, we offer a calorie-counted series of menus, but we do not enforce this on everyone!

We are pleased to offer Cookery Classes for our guests wishing to learn the secrets of Sri Lankan or Thai cuisine.
